L/Corporal 5120749 Arthur Stocks is standing at the back, on the right of the middle row is a soldier we believe to be named as Bailey, and the soldier sat in the middle front is Private 14340725 Dodd who was awarded a Military Medal in Burma and who was killed in action at Mandalay on the 10th March 1945. [We believe Bailey was Corporal 5339884 Bailey who was killed in action at Kabwet on the 30th January 1945]. 30 January 1945: Statement: After we took Hill 15R at Kabwet, we were sitting at the top of the hill having a cigarette and a sniper, from where I don't know, shot L/Cpl.[Bailey?] who was sitting beside me. |
